After the death of Moses, Joshua was faced with the challenge of leading the Children of Israel into the promised land. Moses' death symbolizes the transition from the old way of thinking and doing things to the new thing that God will do in the present. What got the Israelites to the edge of the promised land is not necessarily what will take them into the promised land.
